A Message from Barb

“The soul grows by learning.”

Last month this newsletter touched on prayer, the first of the four principals I used as an inspiration and foundation for creating a diocesan wide women's ministry outreach. This month I switch my focus to faith formation. As our kids head back to school lets do some homeschooling for ourselves too! I am a strong believer in continuing education, and in my humble opinion, we can never learn enough about our faith and the Catholic church. The options are endless for growing in knowledge of our Lord and his teachings and how we can live them out. There are countless books, video series, podcasts and online resources. We can study the lives of the saints and their writings, church documnets and of course scripture.

Each month in our faith formation section of our webpages we try to spark your interest by offering a book of the month, 4 quarterly studies for the year and other faith formation programs that may be off interest! You will also find a lending library where you can borrow books for your small groups studies. We continue to try and grow this section of recommendations! I highly encourage you to check it out. We offer options for purchasing our quarterly books at a discount too! Plus we have  links  to purchase books at a discount when we find them! So I hope you will take some time this month to find a book that will expand your faith life. This months book of the month was one of those such books for me. I made some concrete positive changes in how I live out my faith after reading it and haven't looked back. You never know what will happen when you step into a book and you don't have to do it alone! Grab some friends and study the book together. I am always available to help with choosing a book or starting a study!

And don't forget we also offer live opprtunites to grow in faith formation. Check out the three event opportunities below and go to our events page for more options. We are always offering new events and sharing options other parishes are opening up!

Finally each month you can join our monthly Zoom call to learn more. I will feature an interview on an opportunity open to women in our diocese or a program you may want to add at your parish. This month we will be learning more about a ministry called Millions of Monicas. This program brings women together to pray for children or loved ones who have left the faith. I hope you will pop on the call or listen to the recording. See below for details.

So don't be complacent with your faith life. Grow, expand and learn more. We cannot truly love what we do not know and the deeper the knowledge the deeper the love!

We are better when we grow together!

this situation. Following the example of St. Monica, these mothers come together
