A Message from Barb
What a relief to see your friendly smile. It is like seeing the face of God! Genesis 33:10
We are deep in the preparations for our upcoming event in two weeks. It seemed fitting, that as we work our way through the pillars of our women's ministry program that this month our focus would be hospitality. Hospitality is so much more than just making sure you have the right food and table settings. Hospitality is extending the invitation, making people feel welcome and showing them the love of Christ. In our Catholic tradition hospitality is not just offering them a seat at the table but asking others to join us at the table of the Lord. It is the heart of evangelization, and our deepest calling in the church.
So this month I am asking you to help me in this upcoming evangelization effort! First of all commit to joining us. Events don't change the world but they do help us fill our cups and take time to place our focus and time on our faith. It is a moment of respite from the busyness of the world, not just one more thing to do. No one ever regrets attending, but in advance can think of a million reasons not to. Give your self the gift of receiving Catholic hospitality this month.
And while you are receiving our hospitality, you can also help us pass it on. Most importantly help us by passing on this newsletter and inviting the women you know to join us! Getting that personal invitation out is not an easy task. Sometimes all a person needs is someone telling them we want you there! So I hope you all know how much I want you there and am praying for those who will attend. I would love it if you too would personally think of two or three women or teens that you think would benefit from attending and send them a personal invite, even if you can't make this one yourself. Ask yourself who the Holy Spirit wants to attend that is waiting for your invitation.
This year the topic is on Love Heals and as stated above extending Christ's love is the ultimate goal of our hospitality. In order to extend this love we need to be able to receive it. Explore with Sonja Corbitt how God's love is there to heal any wounds that we may have that keep us from receiving this love and how God's love can transform us!
What will the results be?? Hopefully an army of women ready to return to our parishes filled with the blessings of hospitality and ready to extend that hospitality to the community around us, each in our own unique way.
The table will be set, the food will be good, the message will be there but it won't be complete without you!
We Are Better Together!
