About St. Anthony of Padua

St. Anthony of Padua parish was founded in 1905 on the faith of 47 families who wanted a place to worship that was nearer to their homes. Monsignor Otto Hoog of the Archdiocese of St. Louis granted them permission to form the parish in Folk, Missouri, and assigned Reverend John Hoeschen as the first pastor.

The first Mass was celebrated on Pentecost Sunday, June 11, 1905. In 1948, construction began on the current structure under the direction of Reverend Raymond Willerding.

Parish History was taken from Proclaiming the Good News in the Heart of Missouri written by Loretta Pastva, SND.
