What is discernment?
The word vocation originates from the Latin word, ‘vocare’, which means ‘to call’. Through a variety of activities, events, prayer, and interaction, the Vocation staff recognizes that each person is Called to Sainthood.
How do you know who it is that God is calling you do be? Through the process of discernment, each person is challenged to listen to God's voice as He calls you to the priesthood, consecrated religious life, marriage, or a sacred single life. Ultimately, discernment is about growing in discipleship - in a daily, intentional relationship with Jesus Christ.
You must never think you are alone in deciding your future! And second: when deciding your future, you must not decide for yourself alone!
- Pope St. John Paul II
