Faith in Action
“Christ has no body now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes through which he looks compassion on this world. Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good. Yours are the hands through which he blesses all the world. Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are his body. Christ has no body now on earth but yours.”
St. Teresa of Avila
An essential part of being Catholic is putting one's faith into action, every day.
How one serves as the hands, feet, eyes -- the Body of Christ -- is discerned by every Catholic, every day.
One way is to participate in special collections which serve the poor locally, nationally and internationally, such as the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and Catholic Relief Services.
Other diocesan-wide ministries include:
- Catholic Charities
- Catholic Scouting
- Hospital Ministry
- Nursing Home Ministry
- Prison Ministry (Residents Encounter Christ)
- Pro-Life Ministry
- Society of St. Vincent de Paul
