Meetings for those considering permanent diaconate

2017 is a recruitment year for men who may be interested in becoming a permanent deacon in the Diocese of Jefferson City.
Several informational meetings will be held around the diocese for men who feel they may have a calling to this ministry or want to learn more about it.
Two meetings are currently scheduled:
• Sunday, June 18, at St. Mary Church, 421 Third St. in Glasgow, following the 11 a.m. Mass
• Tuesday, July 18, at St. George Church, 613 E. Main St. in Linn, following a 6 p.m. Mass
Meetings are also being planned in the northeastern area of the diocese and in the Lake Ozark area. Dates and locations will be announced in an upcoming edition of The Catholic Missourian.
These meetings will provide information about the diaconate, the formation program, what potential deacons can expect, and what the diocese expects from them.
Several permanent deacons, men currently in formation, and their wives will be available to speak to the group or individuals to answer questions about this vocation.
Wives of interested men are strongly encouraged to attend to have their questions and concerns addressed.
If you know of any men who have expressed a desire to serve the Church in this way, please pray for them and encourage them to seek out this opportunity to serve.
