Diocesan Workshop on newly published Spanish language Missal to be held August 24.

On September 14, 2017, Cardinal Daniel N. DiNardo, Archbishop of Galveston-Houston and President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) announced a publication date for the long-awaited Misal Romano, tercera edición — the Spanish translation of the third edition of the Roman Missal for use in the United States.  The revised text may be used in the liturgy as soon as Pentecost 2018 and its use becomes mandatory on the First Sunday of Advent 2018.

This is an historic moment for the dioceses of the United States! It marks the first time that this country has its own Spanish-language edition of The Roman Missal. The FDLC is collaborating with the secretariat staff of the Bishop’s Committee on Divine Worship in order to offer nationwide workshops on this new liturgical text.

In our desire to offer something in/for our local diocese, the Liturgical Commission and the Hispanic Ministry Office will be sponsoring a workshop on August 24th at the Catholic Center. This will help the clergy, liturgists and pastoral leaders of our diocese to prepare for the transition and to use this first U.S. Edition of the Misal Romano as an opportunity to provide liturgical formation to all the faithful.

Please, RSVP to Pat Reinkemeyer at gro.y1537418691ticff1537418691ejoid1537418691@reye1537418691mekni1537418691erp1537418691 if you are interested in attending. The deadline for registering is August 22nd.
