Catechetical Formation Programs

Men and women who are active in a parish that has committed to the program. This program is particularly aimed at those who are active in some parish ministry (ex. catechists, liturgical ministers, small group leaders, etc.) but any member of the parish is welcome.

This program lasts about a year. There are 8 topics covered with 4 sessions per topic. 

It will begin with a diocesan launch day.

It will conclude with a diocesan retreat day.

• Profesión de Fe – 12 de enero, 19 de enero, 26 de enero, 2 de febrero
• Liturgia y Sacramentos – 23 de febrero, 2 de marzo, 9 de marzo, 16 de marzo
• Vida en Cristo – 6 de abril, 13 de abril, 20 de abril, 27 de abril

• Retiro Diocesano final en persona (ministerio especializado): 9 de mayo en la Cancillería en Jefferson City 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Participants should be:

• Active member of your parish
• Seeking to deepen their knowledge and love of their Catholic faith
• Committed to prepare for and attend classes
• Willing to maintain communication with the program coordinator

The diocese provides a complete tuition scholarship. Students pay a $50 registration fee.

Diocesan gathering to open the academic year

Classes for the year:

1. CALLED AND SENT: The Church as the pilgrim people of God, vocation & mission of the laity, and our call to service

2. SACRED SCRIPTURE: Divine revelation, the Old & New Testaments, and early Christians' experience of God

3. PROFESSION OF FAITH: History and development of the creeds, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit

4. LITURGY AND SACRAMENTS: Liturgy as the prayer & action of the Church, and the seven sacraments

5. LIFE IN CHRIST: Jesus Christ: the primary point of reference for moral living

6. DIOCESAN SEMINAR: One-day gathering for ministry training, specialized topics, etc.
