For more than 45 years, Catholic Charities of Central and Northern
Missouri (CCCNMO) has coordinated the arrival and services for all refugees resettled in our region, via
its Refugee Services program. As the designated local resettlement agency (LRA) in Mid-Missouri,
Catholic Charities Refugee Services has been tasked with resettling up to 300 Afghan evacuees in the
next two to four months, and is calling on the community for support in this life-saving work. Two
public events are being held to enlist community support and provide education and information on
resettlement in the coming weeks,
A “Welcoming Refugees Town Hall” and “Volunteer Open House”, will take place the following Saturday, November 6, from 10:00 AM to
1:00 PM, at Catholic Charities’ Columbia office at 916 Bernadette Drive, Columbia, Missouri.
Donations of new or very gently used winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves are requested and will be
accepted at these events. For additional assistance with resettlement efforts, the public is encouraged to
donate by texting “WelcomeMO” to 91999, giving online at cccnmo.diojeffcity.org/give, or mailing a
