Starkenburg Shrine to Host Annual Fall Pilgrimage

The Historic Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows Shrine at Starkenburg will host its annual Fall Pilgrimage on Sunday, September 11, 2022.

The special day will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. The Pilgrims will then carry a replica of the White Lady, an image that has been at the Shrine since 1852, in a rosary procession through the Shrine grounds, stopping at each of the outdoor Stations of the Cross.

A traditional German meal of fried chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, slaw and dessert will be served by members of the Church of the Risen Savior from 11:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Valentine Hall.

Following the meal, the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be provided by numerous priests. Benediction will take place at 1:00 p.m., followed by Mass at the Outdoor Altar at 2:00 p.m., which concludes the day. Bishop Shawn McKnight will preside at the Mass, with neighboring priests con-celebrating.

Religious articles will be available for purchase and will be blessed during Mass.
