The retreat day features the teaching and practice of THE WELCOMING PRAYER, a companion practice to Centering Prayer. Our presenter is Mr. Jim McElroy.
Centering Prayer is usually done at the beginning and the end of our day whereas The Welcoming Prayer practice reminds us to open to God’s presence at the time of any stressful situation throughout the day. The retreat day will also include several communal Centering Prayer periods for all attendees regardless of experience level. Those who are new to Centering Prayer will be provided with a short introduction to the 4 steps during the first prayer period. There will be several refreshment breaks during the day as well as a catered lunch. These breaks provide time for renewing old friendships and meeting new companions on your spiritual journey.
The event will be held in Flanagan Hall at Our Lady of Lourdes in Columbia, MO.
