Toward a Kerygmatic Catechesis
Pope Francis states, "All Christian formation consists of entering more deeply into the kerygma, which is reflected in and constantly illumines, the work of catechesis." (EG, 164) But what does it mean to see catechesis through the lens of the kerygma? How can our programs of Christian formation embrace a kerygmatic catechesis that not only informs but transforms? This seminar will explore the fundamental role of the kerygma in our efforts to catechize and evangelize within the parish. Participants will also explore how the new Franciscan at Home online learning platform can assist the clergy in implementing a kerygmatic catechesis in their own parish programs.
