NAME OF ST. THOMAS MORE NEWMAN CENTER MODIFIED TO ST. JOHN HENRY NEWMAN PARISH
Pursuant to and in fulfillment of all requirements of canon law and convinced that this change will benefit the faithful of the parish and the larger diocesan community, the Ordinary, Most Reverend Ralph B. O’Donnell Bishop Of Jefferson City and the Chancellor, Mr. Benjamin H. Roodhouse, did on January 14, 2026, affix their signatures to the following decree modifying the name of St. Thomas More Newman Center Parish to St. John Henry Newman Parish, effective January 28, 2026.
DECREE
That the name of the juridic person known as St. Thomas More Newman Center Parish shall be St. John Henry Newman Parish. This change is effective as of 28 January 2026. I furthermore direct all official civil documentation and corporations to be updated by the date.
Given at the Chancery in Jefferson City on the 14th day of January in the year of Our Lord 2026.

World Day for Consecrated Life, February 1

World Day for Consecrated Life will be celebrated in the Church on Monday, February 2, 2026, and in parishes over the weekend of February 1, 2026. Please pray for all those who have made commitments in the consecrated life and be sure to thank them on their special day. May they continue to be inspired by Jesus Christ and respond generously to God's gift of their vocation.

The Rite of Election will be held on February 22, 2026. Details regarding the time and location will be shared closer to the event via email and the Monday Morning Memo.
Please complete this participation form as soon as possible and no later than January 23, 2026, even if your parish will not have participants this year. Submitting the form ensures adequate seating for those attending and provides us with an accurate list of coordinators and current contact information.
For parishes with participants, parchment paper, instructions for signing the parchment, and an outline of the Rite of Election will be mailed to the catechumenate coordinator at the parish you designate on the form. Any updates or changes will be communicated by email using the address provided.
At a later date, the Diocesan Communications Office will send a separate email requesting the names of those from your parish who will be received into the Church at Easter. These names will be published in The Catholic Missourian around Easter.

Missouri Catholic Summit 2026
Missouri Catholic Summit (MCS) is a large gathering of Catholic young adults, ages 18-25, from across Missouri. The summit is a day dedicated to celebrating the Christian life and fostering fellowship among faithful young adults. Participants grow together in a warm and lively environment through inspiring talks by esteemed speakers, reflection, and prayer. Registration for Diocesan Summer Camps 2026 opens January 31st
The Diocese of Jefferson City holds Summer Camps for incoming middle schoolers and high schoolers. These week-long, faith-based camps provide young people with adventure, fun, and community. Registration for incoming 6th-12th graders for Summer Camps will open January 31st, 2026.
