Ordination and Installation of Bishop Ralph O'Donnell
This past week, our diocese celebrated the joyful Ordination and Installation of Bishop Ralph O'Donnell.
The Ordination and Installation took place on October 28, 2025, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. A Vespers Service was held the evening before, on October 27, also at the Cathedral of St. Joseph.
Both liturgies were livestreamed, and recordings are available on the homepage of the diocesan website.

I am pleased to announce that the Most Reverend Ralph B. O’Donnell, Bishop of Jefferson City, has recently made the following appointments to provide the most effective pastoral care of the Diocese of Jefferson City:
- PRIESTS
REVEREND MONSIGNOR ROBERT A. KURWICKI, appointed Vicar General, effective 6 November 2025. - VERY REVEREND BRAD T. BERHORST, JCL, confirmed as Judicial Vicar, effective 5 November 2025 and until 31 October 2026.
- VERY REVEREND CHRISTOPHER L. CORDES, appointed Vicar for Priests, effective 6 November 2025 for a term of one year.
- LAITY
MR. RICH ANDERSON, reappointed as a member of the Diocesan Finance Council for a term of one year, effective 6 November 2025. - MS. BARBARA REICHART, reappointed as a member of the Diocesan Finance Council for a term of one year, effective 6 November 2025.
- MR. MATTHIAS TOLKSDORF, reappointed as a member of the Diocesan Finance Council for a term of one year, effective 6 November 2025.

Upcoming Parish Secretaries' Workshop
The Parish Secretaries' Workshop will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, beginning at 10:00am and concluding no later than noon. The Zoom link will be provided closer to the date; in the meantime, mark this training opportunity on your calendar and send topics or questions that we should cover to Bernadette Adams at badams@diojeffcity.org.
2026 Open Enrollment for All Diocesan Benefit Eligible Employees
Open Enrollment for all diocesan benefit eligible employees is now open through November 21 for a January 1 effective date. Employees should have received a complete Benefit Enrollment Guide via their personal email address from no-reply@benmanage.com. Please read the intro letter and instructions carefully. As a reminder, FSA and Dependent FSA elections must be made each calendar year.
If you do not receive an email by November 11, please review the Benefit Enrollment Guide that is available in your parish or school office. Enrollment can be completed through the self-serve online option (please see the benefit enrollment guide for directions) or by contacting the enrollment center at 1-877-338-6311.
If you do not wish to make any changes, no action is necessary, and your current elections will remain the same for 2026, except for FSA and Dependent FSA as noted above.
We cannot accept any changes after November 21.

This holy year invites the faithful to embrace the spirit of hope. As we embark on this year of Jubilee, there will be numerous opportunities to experience grace, including by participating in special Jubilee Masses or joining a pilgrimage.
There are several new materials available to parishes, including branded assets, promotional materials, a pilgrimage passport and other handouts for parishioners. Please help us promote these unique opportunities throughout the year!
