Beginning today
Temporary Chancery office closure
Beginning today, May 19, the Chancery office will be closed for a period of weeks due to work on the building's heating and cooling system.
At the outset, the building and parking lots will be completely inaccessible. Currently, we expect sections of the building to reopen over a two- to four-week period.
Chancery staff will be working remotely during this time.
Please continue to contact staff members for assistance as you would normally. The main Chancery phone line (573-635-9127) will remain operational, though you will have the opportunity to dial staff extensions directly prior to speaking with the receptionist. We encourage you to do so.
For your convenience, we are providing this one-page list of contact information for staff members who typically work in the Chancery office to ensure you can reach the person you need to contact.

Thank you for your patience during this time!

Pope Leo begins papacy calling for ‘united Church’ in a wounded world
Launching his papacy with a call for reconciliation and communion, Pope Leo XIV formally began his ministry as the successor of St. Peter by calling for “a united Church, a sign of unity and communion, which becomes a leaven for a reconciled world.”
“In this our time, we still see too much discord, too many wounds caused by hatred, violence, prejudice, the fear of difference and an economic paradigm that exploits the Earth’s resources and marginalizes the poorest,” the new pope said in his homily during his inauguration Mass May 18.
“For our part, we want to be a small leaven of unity, communion and fraternity within the world,” he told the estimated 150,000 people gathered in and around St. Peter’s Square. “We want to say to the world, with humility and joy: Look to Christ! Come closer to him! Welcome his word that enlightens and consoles! Listen to his offer of love and become his one family: ‘In the one Christ, we are one.’”
A version of the quote from St. Augustine is the pope’s episcopal motto and is featured on his coat of arms.

Discovering God's hope during a Year of Jubilee
This holy year invites the faithful to embrace the spirit of hope. As we embark on this year of Jubilee, there will be numerous opportunities to experience grace, including by participating in special Jubilee Masses or joining a pilgrimage.
There are several new materials available to parishes, including branded assets, promotional materials, a pilgrimage passport and other handouts for parishioners. Please help us promote these unique opportunities throughout the year!
We encourage you to get started with our parish guide to the 2025 Jubilee Year. This guide includes information on how you can get involved as a parish, what resources are available, and ideas for creating Jubilee events at your parish.
