Today, Oct. 7 — Global day of prayer and fasting for peace
The Most Reverend W. Shawn McKnight, Bishop of Jefferson City, is asking all parishes, Catholic schools and individual parishioners, to join in a global day of prayer and fasting for peace on Monday, Oct. 7.
Bishop McKnight is encouraging all Catholics in our diocese to offer a Rosary for peace in our world.
Last week, Pope Francis issued the call for the day of praying and fasting, saying: “In this dramatic hour of our history, while the winds of war and the fires of violence continue to devastate entire peoples and nations,” the Christian community is reminded of its call to “put itself at the service of humanity.”

Catholic Stewardship Renewal video
A new promotional video from the Diocese of Jefferson City is intended to help the faithful of our diocese deepen their understanding of Catholic Stewardship.
The video features clergy and lay people explaining what Stewardship means to them. A Spanish version of the video will be available soon.
Parishes are welcome to share this video as we prepare for the Catholic Stewardship Renewal on Oct. 19-20. The video can be downloaded at this link.

Official Catholic Directory Online Updating Has Begun
Parishes and other Catholic entities listed in the Official Catholic Directory are asked to carefully review, update, and submit your listing for inclusion in the 2025 edition. OCD Contacts should have received an email notice via the editorial staff on October 2nd, it will have come from @nrpdirect.com.
Those responsible for updating your listing, please go to ocdedits.com/login, and enter your email and password. If you do not remember your password, use the “Reset Password”; be sure to check your spam/junk folder in case the reset password email gets re-routed. If your email is not registered, click the “Register” button and follow the registration process.

The deadline to complete your updates and submit your information is November 8, 2024.

Save the Date: Marriage Retreat
Mark your calendars and help us spread the word for the upcoming diocesan retreat for married couples — "Living in the Trinity with Mary!"
The retreat will be held on March 14-15, 2025 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph and will be led by two inspiring couples from the Marianist Retreat Center.
Attendees can expect three delicious meals, inspiring talks, engaging prayer experiences, and quality reflection time (reflections can be done as a couple or in small groups).
Registration opens on November 1. More details will be released soon!
