Parish Secretaries’ Workshop – December 14, 2022

Advent/Christmas liturgical preparation aid

Once again, the FDLC is providing a liturgical preparation aid for the seasons of Advent and Christmas.  This annual, seasonal resource is now posted on the public pages of the FDLC website, in English and Spanish: www.fdlc.org/adventchristmas2022

The thirty-one page booklet contains: 

  1. The full text for the Rite of Reconciling Several Penitents with individual Confession and Absolution
  2. Alternate readings, sample penances, music suggestions
  3. A liturgical calendar advisory
  4. A list of Lectionary readings for Sundays and solemnities
  5. The Proclamation of the Nativity of the Lord  (to be used at the Christmas Vigil)
  6. The Proclamation of the Moveable Feasts (to be used on Epiphany)

The Matrimonial Tribunal will be closed on the following dates for vacation:

  • Friday, December 9
  • Tuesday, December 20
  • Wednesday, December 21
  • Thursday, December 22

Official Catholic Directory update portal now open

It is time to update your listing for the Official Catholic Directory (OCD).

An email notification will have come directly from the publisher, …@nrpdirect.com, with instructions for updating your information. Please note:

  • The updating system is optimized for Google Chrome.
  • School and Chapel information is located on the Sub-organization page. This page should be opened even if there is a green checkmark. You will need to hit the “Edit” button next to each listing in order to review and update this information.
  • Under the Statistics page, the “Number of Lay Ministers” refers to parish office employees and should not include school personnel/educators. Similarly, students under “Catechesis/Religious Education” refers to PSR students. All information regarding the school, including personnel/educators and students will be counted on the school’s Statistics page.

Annual Property & Casualty Insurance Invoice

The Chancery Office of the Diocese of Jefferson City is seeking a full-time senior bookkeeper with advanced bookkeeping and elementary accounting work in the maintenance, review and analysis of detailed financial records throughout the entire accounting cycle. This individual will perform a variety of moderately complex to advanced bookkeeping/accounting tasks and procedures. Experience with general ledger, investments, insurance administration and payroll is strongly desired.
