Learn about the progress being made on the renovation of the Cathedral of St. Joseph

News stories and a drone video are highlighting the progress being made on the renovation of the Cathedral of St. Joseph:

The ongoing renovation and expansion addresses numerous mechanical and accessibility issues within the structure while greatly enhancing the cathedral’s hospitality and spiritual functionality. This includes the installation of new artwork and liturgical features that more fully reflect the beauty of our Catholic faith — as well as highlight the culture and rich history of our diocese. This work is helping fulfill our diocese’s original vision for the cathedral, which has not had a substantial renovation since it opened in 1968. The cathedral belongs to all Catholics in our diocese. Learn more about the renovation.

Pope reflects on the 60th anniversary of the opening of Vatican II

In a homily this week that coincided with the 60th anniversary of the opening of Vatican II, Pope Francis called on Catholics to come together as we work to move past divisions and polarization. “All of us are children of God, all brothers and sisters in the church, all of us making up the church, all of us,” said the Pope in a translation of his homily given on Oct. 12, 2022. “That is how the Lord wants us to be. We are his sheep, his flock, and we can only be so together and as one. Let us overcome all polarization and preserve our communion.” Read the full homily.
