St. Patrick, Laurie, parish secretary

St. Patrick Church has an opening for Parish Secretary. This is a full time non-exempt hourly position with benefits.


  • Greets visitors to the office in a professional and friendly manner
  • Manages mail, emails, voicemails and telephone
  • Adheres to regular schedule assigned by pastor – maintains calendar of events
  • Maintains accurate Servant Keeper records, Sacramental records, Weekly Offerings and takes minutes of meetings as directed by pastor
  • Serves as secretary to the pastor, maintaining high level of confidentiality
  • Keep personal desk and entire office organized
  • Keeps pastor informed of vital concerns within the parish
  • Responsible for weekly bulletin
  • Takes care of Deanery luncheons
  • Maintain cemetery records and issue cemetery lots
  • Receive Mass Intentions
  • Maintain and update parish website
  • Monitor parish social media sites as directed by pastor
  • Clips and files all newspaper ads and articles concerning the parish
  • Maintains positive relationship with parish members and other volunteers
  • Maintains a reasonable inventory of church supplies
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Computer and organizational skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Publisher
  • 3 – 5 years previous training or experience as secretary
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Intermediate and accurate mathematical skills
